Oct 02, 2002 · Personally I only use the Pioneer slot-loading DVDROMs, so I can't speak for the tray-loading version. But my guess is that the noise difference is very small because the noise of such an optical drive is caused by the vibrating of the motor, which the cover can do little to reduce it. I maybe wrong thought. Feel free to correct me please.
